re:collect

"re:collect" is a joint exhibition of new artworks by students of SMU and Pathlight School.  Reflecting on their own life experiences and personal memories through the collection and creative application of everyday objects, "re:collect” brings together elements of storytelling and visual art experimentation. See how these youth artists embrace art making as ways to celebrate their collective and individual stories, connecting past to present, writing new chapters for tomorrow. Curated by Singapore visual artist, Cheong Kah Kit.

PATHLIGHT

Pathlight School is the first autism-focused school in Singapore to offer a blend of national curriculum leading to Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE) and GCE ‘N’ and ‘O’ level examinations and life readiness skills for students on the autism spectrum with related learning disorders.

It caters to students aged 7 to 18 years old who are cognitively able to access the national curriculum in a structured, small group learning setting. The school was established by Autism Resource Centre (Singapore) at the invitation of the Ministry of Education (MOE). It started operations in January 2004 with just 41 students. Today, it has more than 1,800 students and is one of the fastest growing and progressive special education (SPED) schools in Singapore.

SMU ARTDICTED

The world of art is diverse; it is filled with a plethora of art forms. SMU Artdicted organises various workshops of differing art mediums that cater to the interest and learning of our members. The club is also a family where students can form camaraderie and express themselves through our art programs regardless of their art skills.
