SMU Samba Masala

SMU Samba Masala is Singapore Management University's premier Afro-Brazilian percussion ensemble.
Founded in 2004 as a dhol percussion group, the ensemble has since evolved into a full batucada, performing at international events such as the International Samba Festival (Coburg, Germany) and Brazilica Festival (Liverpool, UK). Locally, Samba Masala is the organiser of Viva O Samba, Southeast Asia's largest samba festival, and has performed at national platforms including Singapore's SG60 National Day Parade and Singapore River Festival.
Blending Afro-Brazilian and Asian percussion traditions, Samba Masala delivers high-energy live performances tailored to captivate any audience.

SMU MLCC Rentak

SMU MLCC Rentak is the percussion ensemble of the Singapore Management University Malay Language and Cultural Club (MLCC). Established in 2016, the ensemble has grown into a recognised presence on Singapore’s cultural arts scene, performing at major cultural festivals, national celebrations, and institutional events. Through traditional repertoire and original compositions inspired by the Malay Archipelago, Rentak celebrates and preserves the rich rhythmic heritage of the Nusantara.

Since 2004, SMU Broadcast & Entertainment has been providing specialised entertainment services in hosting, voiceovers, podcast and video production, live streaming, and event technical support. Through industry-led training, the club prepares its members to take on diverse entertainment and production roles across major SMU events and initiatives.

Beats Encore is Republic Polytechnic’s Brazilian-inspired percussion ensemble, known for delivering high-energy performances driven by rhythm, precision, and passion. Damaru Singapore

Damaru is Singapore’s premier organization for Traditional Indian Drumming.

Established in 2015 by founder and director Akshara Thiru, the nonprofit collective is driven by a team of passionate and established musicians who preserve the tradition while redefining its future.

Damaru brings together a growing community of practitioners and learners who actively engage in productions, performances, and workshops - spreading the Joy of traditional Indian drumming.

NADI Singapura

Formed in 2011, Nadi Singapura is a Singapore-based ensemble reimagining Malay traditional percussion through dynamic performances that blend heritage with contemporary expression. Dedicated to cultural preservation and innovation, the group inspires pride in Malay traditions while engaging diverse audiences through concerts, outreach, and cross-cultural collaborations.

New Stream Brass Band

Established in 2014, New Stream Brass Band is Singapore’s first New Orleans-style brass band. Drawing inspiration from the rich musical traditions of New Orleans, the band performs an energetic mix of jazz, funk and brass band classics, celebrating the city’s vibrant musical heritage.

Founded in 2007, SAMBIESTA is Singapore's home-grown Afro-Brazilian percussion band, best known for their high-impact samba performances infused with modern funk and drum & bass. Wicked Aura

ZingO

"People Awaken from Hibernation!" this is what ZingO means! Since founded, ZingO has always been Singapore’s unique icon and pride creating great positive impact locally and internationally. Reputed Singapore’s foremost drum group and a trail blazer, ZingO is awarded the most outstanding performance in Chingay 2023, and the 5-Star Festive Drum Heritage Beholder in 2024 by Association of Festive Drum Malaysia. ZingO’s founder is the pioneer and authentic representative in Singapore since 1998. Entrusted by the founders of this Malaysian National Heritage, ZingO features the UNESCO World Intangible Cultural Heritage – Solar Terms. ZingO’s construction is a Singaporean version which has inspired and is benchmarked by many other subsequent similar groups. With much cultural and artistic considerations,this local flavour is envisioned as a Singaporean National Heritage.
