INTO THE LORE is a visual arts exhibition inspired by legendary Asian stories and folklore. Through visual art, photography, and text, student artists reinterpret iconic characters, symbols, and narratives from across the region. Blending tradition with contemporary expression, the exhibition invites audiences to discover familiar stories through fresh perspectives and creative experimentation.

Arterly Obsessed
Arterly Obsessed is an artist-run art, craft, and design studio where creativity and community intersect. Founded and led by practicing artists, the studio develops hands-on workshops, curated art experiences, and design projects that celebrate both traditional craftsmanship and contemporary practices. Its programmes range from intimate craft sessions to large-scale collaborative installations, creating opportunities for people of all ages to explore, make, and connect through art.
Rooted in the belief that art should be accessible, inclusive, and engaging, Arterly Obsessed is committed to fostering a welcoming environment where creativity can thrive. Nicole Wong
Nicole's fascination towards investigating the human condition and exploring the lived experience of being a woman heavily influences her approach to writing and painting. Her works often create space for open-ended conversations between viewers and the canvas.
Alexis Lim
Alexis is a Singaporean artist with roots in South Sumatra. Her work explores social issues such as feminism and queerness, through the language of myth and ancient history.
Priyadharshini Nedumaran
Priyadharshini Nedumaran is a multidisciplinary artist passionate about making art a part of everyday life. She creates works inspired by culture, nature, and emotion.
Gina Lim Hui Yan
Gina is a digital artist whose practice centres on storytelling through adorable animal characters. Drawing on themes of warmth, playfulness, and everyday moments, her illustrations create charming narratives that invite viewers to connect with her characters.
Wong Wan Qing Celeste
A photographer and image maker with an enthusiasm for colour and natural light, Celeste enjoys challenging herself across genres beyond concert, food and landscape.
Tay Wan Yi Trisha
Trisha Tay is a fine artist whose practice investigates identity, the human condition, and contemporary existence through surrealist imagery. Rooted in art as catharsis, her work invites viewers to contemplate, question, and construct their own interpretations.
Cecilia Lee Jia Yi
Cecilia Lee Jia Yi is a Singapore-based writer whose work explores themes of love, loss, grief, memory, and longing. Through poetry, she creates spaces for reflection, healing, and connection, inviting visitors to feel seen, heard, and understood while reminding them that they are not alone in their experiences and that healing is possible with time.

COMMUNITY PARTNER
St. Vincent Home
St. Vincent Home is a residential home that provides a safe and supportive community for elderly residents aged 60 and above, empowering them to live with dignity, independence, and meaningful social connections.
As part of SMU Arts Fest 2026, eight seniors from the Home participated in two workshops led by Arterly Obsessed, creating mixed-media diorama artworks inspired by six Asian folktales. Their artworks will be exhibited alongside works by young artists from the SMU community in the INTO THE LORE exhibition, celebrating the power of art to foster creativity, encourage intergenerational connections, and bring communities together.

SMU Ardicted
SMU Artdicted organises ad-hoc workshops and monthly art jams of differing art mediums that cater to the interest and learning of our members. The club aims to provide a platform for students to achieve holistic development both as an artist and as a leader in initiating and managing art-related events in SMU.

SMU Literati is a student club under the Arts and Cultural Fraternity (ACF) cluster that specialises in literature and poetry. In the recent years, our club has also expanded to other mediums of literature, from art and films, to music and even pop culture! Founded in 2002, SMUSAIC is SMU’s flagship photography club dedicated to promoting photographic literacy, passion, and appreciation for the arts. We are a tight-knit community seeking to hone our crafts through the sharing and learning of insights from one another.
